Mrs. Kennedy is originally from the Midwest. She attended Purdue University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with specialist concentrations in Reading and Gifted Education. The bulk of her professional career has been in the Kindergarten classroom, but she has also taught preschool and transitional Kindergarten. Her passion for early literacy led to a Master of Education focusing on Literacy and English Language Learners from UTA. When her family relocated to Phoenix in 2018, Mrs. Kennedy began her career with BASIS as a Kindergarten teacher. She has taught at BASIS Phoenix Central and BASIS Peoria Primary. Mrs. Kennedy believes in the power of early literacy and that students learn best when they are engaged through playful and meaningful activities. She is thrilled to be joining the Building Blocks team!
